Opposition Figure Peter Magyar Holds March In Budapest

Peter Magyar, ex-husband of former Justice Minister Judit Varga and political-insider-turned-whistleblower, had previously published a recording on social media featuring Varga's voice describing how other Hungarian government officials caused evidence to be removed from court records to cover up their roles in corrupt business dealings. He also handed the tape to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Budapest to be used as evidence. Varga served as Hungary's Justice Minister until February this year when she resigned after it was revealed that the then-president, Katalin Novak, another close ally of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, issued a pardon to a convicted accomplice in a case of child sexual abuse at an orphanage.
