Leonid meteor shower at peak seen from 4,000 meters above Japan

Slow-motion video footage taken on Nov. 17 shows the Leonid meteor shower phenomenon at its peak as seen from the Asahi Shimbun aircraft “Asuka” cruising at about 4,000 meters above the coast of Miyagi Prefecture. At least 10 bodies were identified from the aircraft from about 8 p.m. Also delineated in order are the three stars of the Summer Triangle and the constellations of Pleiades and Orion.
