Senator Schumer press statement after tax reform vote

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says hours after the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed that they are popping champagne down Pennsylvania Avenue and corporate board rooms including at Trump Tower, but there is much to regret. Schumer responds to comments by Senator McConnell that the bill was really remarkable, that there was a fair and open process whereas one party negotiated behind closed doors, and that the bill encourages job creation, Schumer saying he loves the example of AT&T, which paid an average tax rate of eight percent over the prior 10 years with 80,000 fewer employees, instead, tax cuts lead to big CEO salaries and money for the very, very wealthy.
