With San Fermin Festival Cancelled, Pamplona Locals Have Run Of The Town
Aanimal rights activists hold a placard reading 'No more deaths. End bullfighting' during a protest against bullfighting, after the San Fermin Festival was cancelled earlier this year, on July 07, 2020 in Pamplona, Spain. Animal rights organizations Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and Anima Naturalis organized today a performance to claim a San Fermin festivities with no blood and the abolition of bullfightings and bull-runings. Protesters wearing fake horns broke a 'banderilla' (bullfighter's colourful stick) that covered the protesters in colourful powder. The annual Bull-Running Festival was canceled this year 2020 due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, The last time this happened was in 1938, during the Spanish Civil War.
