Protesters Demand Government Resignation After Coverup Of Systemic Child Abuse

The Hungarian press has uncovered systemic abuse, physical assault, and human trafficking allegations at the Szolo Street reformatory in Budapest. There are currently seven identified suspects and the prosecutor's office has requested the arrest of a female teacher on December 12, 2025. A previous child abuse scandal discovered in February 2024 shook Hungarian political life to its core and led to the resignation of several high-ranking officials when it emerged that President Katalin Novak had granted a pardon to the former deputy director of the Bicske children's home where abuses had taken place.
