Crystal Pagota, 23, left, and Porche Pointer, who comforts her at the shooting scene, feels the injustice she feels about her uncle being shot to death in front of her as he lie shirtless, unarmed, on his stomach Saturday night while celebrating her birthday. "The officer said, I can't believe I shot him," Crystal said. "They (Long Beach Police) are supposed to protect and to serve, yeah right, they're protecting their own," Crystal said. "We have to fear for our life, even to come in contact with them (police). We need protection from them," Crystal said. The tight–knit neighbors gather around a makeshift memorial to Roketi Su'e, a 48–year old man Long Beach Police clubbed, tazered, then shot to death Saturday evening at 3392 E. 67th St. in Long Beach. Police officers say they struggled to subdue the man and felt their lives were threatened. Long Beach police called for backup from their own department as well as Sheriff's Dept. when they were approached by about 40 angry residents after the shooting. Police say he died in route to the hospital and residents say he died at the scene. Neighbors says "Rocky" was known to play a lot with the kids and dance. (Photo by Allen J.
