The largest sitting Buddha in Southeast Asia is ironically not in Thailand or Myanmar but in Wat Machimmaram, a Thai temple in a town called Tumpat, in the state of Kelantan, Malaysia. Despite a Muslim-dominated state, a little known fact is that it is home to hundreds of Buddhist temples, most of them concentrated around Tumpat.
