Myrrh, made famous by the Nativity, is a complex substance made up of oils, acids and gum. The use of myrrh medicinally was recorded in China A.D. 600 during the Tang Dynasty. It is a beneficial treatment for loose teeth, gingivitis, bad breath and has has been used to treat athlete's foot.
