Mount Vernon Scenics
ALEXANDRIA, VA - APRIL 21, 2018: Reenactors in period costumes reenact the 1759 arrival of Colonel George Washington and his bride, Martha, and her two young children, to Washington's estate at Mount Vernon, the plantation owned by Washington in Fairfax County, Virginia, near Alexandria. Washington was the first President of the United States. The estate and Washington's restored home are today owned by The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, a philanthropic organization, and is open to the public. (Photo by Robert Alexander/Getty Images)
