KFAR AZA, ISRAEL - 2024/07/18: Safe room of kibbutz house destroyed by the Israeli Defense Force soldiers during the operation to secure the area from Hamas terrorists. The Kfar Aza Kibbutz was one of the most severely impacted by the Hamas attack on October 7th, 2023. Less than two kilometres far from the Gaza Strip border, it was heavily attacked by Hamas militia from four ways, including the sky. 62 of the about 1000 Jewish inhabitants lost their lives. Nine months later, the area has been secured from explosive devices, and some of the victims' accommodations have become a memorial. On a daily basis, local citizens from other areas, military members and foreign tourists belonging to different worldwide Jewish communities arrive at the kibbutz to visit it and to hear the survivors' stories.
