Model Wearing Plaid Skirt and Coat

(Original Caption) New York: Mr. Oliver, who is Cardin's assistant, based the firm's ready-to-wear Fall collection on the Cardin couture clothes shown in Paris earlier this year.Oliver, however played it a bit loose and showed some new shapes in the skirts. Most were split at the sides, many are curved at the bottom. Under them a woman may wear anything from skimpy little shorts to skinny pants or tights. The overlaying tunic itself varied in length from above the knee for day wear to floor length for evening. All kinds of fabric were shown including this red, white and green oversized plaid in coating wool. It is worn with a wide, "motorcycle-style" studded belt over a sheer, black turtle-neck sweater. The outer cape, in the same plaid material, includes a hood for "running from cab to door during a full rain."
