5th August 1974: Graeme Souness, of Middlesbrough Football Club. Midfielder Souness began his career as an apprentice at Tottenham but first made his name at Middlesbrough before moving to Liverpool FC for £352,000 in 1978. He won five league championships and three European Cups at Anfield and then moved to Italian club Sampdoria to gain international experience. He returned to Britain as Rangers' player/manager and then moved back to Anfield to manage the Liverpool side. He has also managed Turkish club Galatasaray.
