Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, newly installed first President
ACCRA, GHANA: Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, newly installed first President of the Republic of Ghana, speaks at length on world and domestic affairs at the Parliament in Accra, 08 July 1960. Nkrumah told the Parliament that he would shortly propose a "non-nuclear" bloc of countries throughout the world. Dr. Nkrumah added that Ghana would find it embarrassing to remain indefinitely within the British Commonwealth with South Africa whose government practised Apartheid and racial discrimination.
