Picture is a close-up, low angle view, of the domes of the famous Saint Mark's Cathedral of Venice, as seen through the arcades of the Biblioteca Marciana, also called Library of Saint Mark, a famous building and public library located on Saint Mark's Square, in front of the Doge's Palace. The building was built between 1537-1588 by the architect Jacopo Sansovino in the Renaissance style. It curently holds one of the most important collection of classical books and texts. The picture was taken from below the arcades of the building on Saint Mark's Square during the day and shows an arch with carvings and bas-reliefs, representing divinities, animal and male figures. The two buildings are classified as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1987, as part of the inscription of Venice and its lagoon.
