Märket Island lighthouse (1885) - Baltic Sea, Finland / Sweden - Stockfoto
Märket Island / reef: skerry shared by Sweden and Finland, on the Understen–Märket Passage, linking the Bothnian Sea to the Baltic proper. The Finnish side is part of the Aland Island (Municipality of Hammarland), it is the westernmost land point of Finland. The Swedish part is divided between the counties of Uppsala (Östhammar Municipality) and Stockholm (Norrtälje Municipality). Famous for its zig-zag border, Märket is the smallest sea island shared by two countries.
