The Ghan Train Makes ANZAC Day Tribute Journey

ALICE SPRINGS, AUSTRALIA - APRIL 24: Veteran David Mattingley, 92, rides The Ghan ANZAC Tribute train as a special guest on April 24, 2014 in Alice Springs, Australia. David enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force at age 20, following training he was posted to the UK, he served as a pilot with No.625 Squadron, RAF, at Keistern and Scampton and was awarded the 'Distinguished Flying Cross' during his service. The Ghan commemorates the sacrifices of Australian servicemen and women with the annual ANAZC tribute journey and raises funds and awareness for the RSL. Commencing in Darwin the train stops to experience the beauty of Katerine Gorge, Nitmiluk National Park and then heads down to Alice Springs to participate in the ANZAC Dawn Service and march before making its way to Port Augusta and the final stop of Adelaide.
