UNITED STATES - OCTOBER 28: This view looking west is the housing development known as Shenstone Farm. It is due West of Leesburg Virginia in Loudoun County. Shenstone Farm, the 200-year-old Stokes family farm that ran beef cattle until Mr. Stokes sold the farm due to land taxes being to high to make agriculture a viable use for the land. The farm had a civil war era bank barn, one of just a few that survived marauding Union troops was moved to West Virginia when developers threatened to tear it down in the early1990's. Loudoun County was classified as the fastest growing county in the United States with this type of development covering the once pastoral landscape of the western part of the county.
