François Lambert, the nephew of a 38-year-old quadriplegic Vincent Lambert who is being kept artificially alive, speaks to journalists at the end of the appeal trial at the administrative court of Nancy on May 26, 2016.
The administrative court examines on May 26, 2016 the request of his nephew to end artificial life support for his uncle Vincent Lambert who is at the CHU of Reims. Lambert suffers from irreversible brain damage and is in a chronic vegetative state since a road accident in 2008. While his wife, nephew and doctors approve a 'passive' form of euthanasia and the withdrawal of artificial life support, Lambert's parents have refused to accept it and have fought several legal battles to keep their son on life support. / AFP / Jean Christophe VERHAEGEN Show more
