A picture taken on July 24, 2014 in Cagnac-les-Mines, near Carmaux (southern France) shows the "Musee de la Mine" (Mine Museum). The memory of French Socialist leader Jean Jaures remains in Carmaux 100 years after his death, remembering that it was there that, in 1892, he turned towards socialism whilst in contact with miners and glass workers while working as a journalist reporting on their strike and becoming involved in the movement, allowing him to become a member of French Parliament until his assassination by a nationalist on the eve of the First World War.
