In this picture taken on August 12, 2009 a De Beers contractor plants seeds on one of the De Beers restoration sites on the Northern Cape coastline on the outskirt of the diamonds giant De Beers owned mining town of Kleinzee, South Africa.Isolated under strict security for the 80 years diamonds have been mined there, this part of the area nicknamed the Diamond Coast hangs in limbo as De Beers embarks on one of the most ambitious mining restoration projects to date. Since 2007 the world's leading diamond company has drastically reduced operations at the mine as the precious gem runs out, reducing staff from about 3,000 to 250. Situated some 600km (370 miles) north of Cape Town in the country's biggest and most sparsely populated provinces, the Northern Cape mining town Kleinzee is barely clinging to life.
