Kanwar Yatra

GURGAON, INDIA - JULY 24: Hindu pilgrims known as Kanwarias pulling chariot decorated as temple carrying holy water collected from river Ganges on July 24, 2014 in Gurgaon, India. Kanwar Yatra is annual pilgrimage taken by devotees of Lord Shiva in month of Saawan. They undertook long strenuous journey on foot from their native places to fetch water from river Ganga. This holy water is later offered at their local Shiva temples. Traffic comes to halt at many places on major highways connecting NCR due to arrival of large number of Kanwariyas carrying water from Haridwar to their native places.
