Cambodian Monks Hold Hunger strike In Protest Against Dam Construction Plans

A planned hunger strike by Cambodian Buddhist monks in front of the Chinese Embassy in Phnom Penh was stopped by police forces. After being pushed away from the Chinese Embassy, Buddhist monks and protesters held the hunger strike in Freedom Park to protest against the planned construction of a dam in Koh Kong province's Areng Valley, which is to be build by a Chinese state-owned hydropower company.
