Opposition conservative Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic was set to become Croatia's first female president on January 11 after taking the lead in a tight run-off vote with a pledge to kickstart the economy, partial results showed. Grabar-Kitarovic, an ex-foreign minister and former NATO official, won 50.44 percent of the vote, according to results based on 80 percent of the ballots cast.
